Omer Arieli

Grew up in Florence where he studied (violin, piano, composition and chamber music) at the Cherubini Conservatory. He performed across Italy as a violinist and pianist.

He studied Conducting at the Jerusalem Academy (with M. Rodan) and at the Vienna University (with L. Hager, H. Arman, E. Ortner, P. Gulda).

He was the winner of several competitions and grants: Belvedere Vienna, Staetshuys Antik Preis Amsterdam, EAJC Paris, Schumann  Monterosa, Premio Venezia, Stresa and Genova).

He has coached famous singers (such as Michelle Crider, Hui He, Daniela Fally, Renato Girolami, Domenico Balzani, Daniel de Vicente, Marcello Lippi, Hugh Smith), worked as Coach and Conductor in several Austrian, German and Italian theaters or Festivals, assisted important Maestros (such as R. Muti, L. Hager, H. Arman, J. Levi, A. Lipsky) and collaborated with international directors (K. Wagner, R. Nickler, D. Garattini, M. Waitzfelder), He conducted most Israeli orchestras, the American Symphony, the Sofia Philharmonic, Dortmund Philharmonic and more European ensembles.

He is Music Director and Conductor of the Jerusalem Opera, as well as of several semi-professional orchestras and choruses.
